Founded in 1976, the museum is located in a European 19th century – style alpine hut built by banker Giovanni Brícola. The scientist Dimitri Sensaud de Lavaud also lived in that house. In 1910, he built an airplane that performed the first flight in South America, here in Osasco. The museum collection includes documents, works of art, photos, books and objects that tell the history of the city. It has recently been refurbished.
